Interesante vocalista Peter!!! Las canciones están muy bien elaboradas y son muy agradables para el oyente!!! ¿Cómo lo descubriste?

He leído la crítica del disco en otra web y he mirado a ver si tenía myspace para poder escuchar su música y me he llevado una grata sorpresa.

Tendrá toda la calidad que queráis pero a mí me produce el mismo sopor que todos los grupos de Westcoast

Aburridísimo.

Ese tema es tremendo así como el resto del disco.

Andreas Aleman, who happens to have one of the most unique voices to ever come out of Sweden, has just completed his debut album, THIS IS LIFE. The 33-year old vocalist/keyboardist has previously worked as an accompanist for Sweden’s top gospel choirs and solo artists. As a songwriter, he has had songs recorded by artists throughout the world including Italian superstar, Laura Pausini.

The album combines traditional soul/R&B/gospel and funk elements, which pays homage to his influences, Ray Charles, Michael McDonald and others, while maintaining his own contemporary sound. In addition to his exciting voice and songwriting skills (he wrote 12 of the 13 songs featured on the album), Andreas is a talented keyboardist and arranger. All keyboard work, vocal and instrumental arrangements were done by Andreas and THIS IS LIFE features some of the best and funkiest studio musicians in Sweden. The album was mastered in LA by top mastering engineer, Ron Boustead.

BIOGRAPHY

ANDREAS was born and raised in Södertälje (Sweden). He began his musical career at the age of 3 when he started playing accordion and piano. Not long after that he began writing his own music.

He found his musical style early on, largely thanks to his parents’ record collection, which included everything from soul, funk, blues, rock, gospel and country. He listened, studied, and learned these different genres and taught himself how to play in all these styles. This formed the basis of his musical direction. While still in school, he played with various bands, which was where he began to utilize and develop his unique singing voice.

When he was 16 he started getting musician and vocal gigs in Stockholm and since then has played in many different ensembles, bands and other music-related connections. He started focusing on songwriting after meeting songwriter/producer BRIAN HOBBS at EIDOLON PRODUCTIONS. They started collaborating and this collaboration has resulted in many songs in various styles and genres, as well as co-productions and a good friendship. In 2002 Andreas was awarded a grant from the Swedish Performing Rights Association, STIM (Svenska Tonsättares Internationella Musikbyrå). Currently, he is working full-time with music and runs his own company, ANDREAS ALEMAN MUSIC. THIS IS LIFE is his debut solo album.

To underline how great 2008 was to a westcoast fan, Swedish guy ANDREAS ALEMAN released one of the best CD´s of last year. Blending westcoast, soul and some funky adds, he is a singer and keyboard player of highest rank. The material has mainly been written by Andreas and working partner BRIAN HOBBS and they have included a large bunch of skilled musicians to finish this fine product.

Kicking off with thew title track "This is life" I immediately thought of BILL LABOUNTY á la his great "The Right Direction" album. Both stylewise and by the fact that there are real players all through. It just sounds SO real and alive! Then take "She might not do me right" as one of the funk oriented songs. It smells TOWER OF POWER and BILL CHAMPLIN in a lovely mix. Try to stands still to this beat and you´re in for a tough time. The albums´ fine variation is underlined by the slightly latin colored soul/westcoaster "Your version of the truth". The album doesn´t lack ballads - or semi-ballads - either. "Loving me by name" reminds me of "Restoration" (Mark Pogue) however in a more soul based manner. There´s also quite a lot of JAY GRAYDON and MICHAEL RUFF in the way this song is built, which kind of shows you the quality here. Finally, hear the lovely syncopes in the upbeat westcoast and soul song "I don´t really need you anymore - this song has proven to be one of Andreas´ most appreciated songs live, with the audience shouting and jumping all the way. The voice of ANDREAS ALEMAN is easily one of the best on the Swedish soul scene of today, and I´d place it somewhere between BILL CANTOS and JIM PHOTOGLO.
